Tomorrow we hope rain blows in. However the signs a storm is offshore aren’t. No wind blowing and too cold for rain.
Fog, yes, rain, no.

These two photos are self-explanatory, one taken 6 years ago and one taken this year, both of them in the same field during the same time of year.

I think we are in for another dry year because by now, we should have had at least a couple of decent rain storms. The photos I posted here are the only rain we’ve had and that lasted about 49 minutes!

  1. I had hoped for rain. There is no drought here in Europe.

    1. How lovely to be in Europe. I hope you are having a wonderful visit! We had a little rain overnight and looks promising for today…. fingers crossed. x

  2. It’s hard for me to imagine no rain for that long. We’ve had drought conditions–two years ago the farmers lost their crops. Mother Nature is schizophrenic…this past year the harvest was phenomenal. Boy are the farmers relieved. It doesn’t always play out that way, as you well know. Whoever thinks the farmers have it easy…..knows zilch about farm life.
Sad photos….I’ll hope more rain found you today. And tomorrow.

    1. hi mel… well, we didn’t have hardly any rain today, just some drizzle that is supposed to go on all week. no REAL downpours are forecast. tonight it’s so strange because the smell of sulfur is very strong, coming from the earth. i would think we’re in for an earthquake if i didn’t know better. i hope i’m wrong but between the breeze and the rain, seems so weird we have this strong smell that is enough to burn my eyes. fingers and toes crossed… we just today got the door fixed that broke in the last quake.

yes… farming is no picnic excepting the lifestyle allows for freedom from a boss except mother nature, a hard task master at times. thanks for stopping by, sweet mel. i’m sorry i’ve been off line so much but can’t much be helped right now. trying to “pace” myself, whatever that means… čśë

  3. As I read your post we are getting a bit of rain in the San Bernardino Mts. Things are indeed parched. Be well and if not well…..peaceful.

    1. Hi Gretchen… parched, yes… we had heavy rain during the night but it is now blowing all the rain clouds away. Hopefully more will blow in. Glad you had some rain down there. Thank you and you be well too. Sending peace upon the winds.

  4. Again, I wish I could send you the soggy grasses we have here on the east coast. Hope more and continued rain comes your way soon. Fabulous photos!
