Painting a Puppy

I want to paint Sophie, our beagle puppy.

But Sophie doesn’t sit still unless she’s sleeping. I take dozens of photos of her and mostly, she’s just a blur as she zooms by.

Here’s a few

Sophie Beagle
Sweetie Beagley

Isn’t she a cutie?

And it’s extremely doubtful that I’ll paint her in blacks and browns! Except maybe those lovely caramel eyes of hers…

  1. When it is finished it will be a beautiful painting.

  2. She is so adorable! What a cutie. I bet she keeps you busy, too. Looking forward to seeing your painting.

    1. Thank you…. one never knows! It’s a good idea anyway… 🙂

Yes, she’s a busy beagles and i have since realized they ALL are!! Our grands just got 2 babies! Crazy but fun… i guess…hope… those 4 kids will make it easier! (haha)

  3. Sophie really is the prettiest little thing just as she is. I’m sure your portrait of her will be far more colorful, but that’s simply because you’ll be capturing her essence for posterity 🙂

    1. Of course I will! 😀

I can’t stay to a limited palette anyway so why try and think otherwise. I know better and think it’ll be fun to paint her essence, which is quite dramatic! talkative, goofy, and any other adjective you might want to imagine. xxx

  4. Oh, I know about those …little fast creatures! She’s such a sweet face. I’m sure you will paint her well!

    1. I hope so…. I have lots of fun trying to capture her, in more ways than one!

  5. Can’t wait to see the painting.

    1. haha, neither can i. i’m hoping by making this blog announcement, someone will someday go “by the way….?”

  6. I have been away from blogging for a while. Spent time with family in the Scottish Highlands. Good to be back home and catching up on your lovely posts!! 🙂

    1. How kind and how lovely the family to visit in such lovely part of the world. I’m happy to see you here again.

  7. She’s so cute – can’t wait to see your painting!

    1. Good morning Mary… I hope those rains I’ve seen aren’t affecting you and your roses… You know what? I can’t wait to see it either!!

    1. Hi Justine, Thank you for your lovely comment. I appreciate your leaving me one and for awarding me with One Lovely Blog award. I appreciate your thoughtfulness but I can no longer participate in awards, meme’s, etc. My time online is limited by chronic pain thus it is best I stay focussed on my posts. I hope that makes sense!

      Blessings to you…

      1. Aww that’s fair enough, just keep up your lovely posts 🙂
